Patricia Velasquez will be presented with the Lee Salk
“Good-works Award”, named in memory of Theatreworks’ beloved trustee, at their annual Gala on
Monday, October 26, 2009:

"Every year, we sit down and put together a “wish list” of honorees that are synonymous with artistic
success, community impact, and unparalleled philanthropic spirit. In short, we look for honorees that
are changing the world and are “do-gooders” through and through. We think Patricia embodies each of these
characteristics and are especially delighted to honor her. Her dedication to our global community
through her work with UNESCO and the Wayuu Taya Foundation, as well as her numerous
professional successes, makes us especially privileged to honor her".

TheatreworksUSA’s Gala 2009 at The Pierre Hotel will be a celebration of children, access to the arts,
diversity, and the spirit of change and renewal. Every year they begin their season with the goal of
reaching over 3 million children across the country and The Gala helps fulfill that goal. . Past presenters have included Phylicia Rashad, Sandra Oh, Stephen
Sondheim, Edward Albee, and Bill Irwin, amongst others.
