Latino Appeal and the U.S. Media
We will discuss the rich and complex relationship between the mass media and the Latino identity. What is the role that media should play, and what role have they played up to now? Is there something recognizable as a Latino identity? What is it? Does the media recognize that preexistent identity, or would they rather try to reshape it every day? Who builds whom? These are some of the questions that will be asked in the session.
